Ten Climate-Controlled Domes
The garden is built across ten individual dome-shaped enclosures, each maintaining its own temperature and humidity to replicate the natural habitat conditions for the butterfly species housed inside. Walking between domes gives you a shift in atmosphere from tropical warmth and dense greenery to lighter, more open environments while butterflies move freely throughout each space.
15,000 Butterflies from 45 Species
The collection covers butterflies from across Asia, South America, Africa, and beyond vivid wings in every combination of colour and pattern you can think of. Some of the most recognisable species present include:
- Blue Morpho electric iridescent blue wings, native to Central and South America
- Monarch orange and black patterned wings, one of the world's most recognised species
- Owl Butterfly large wings with eye-like markings designed to mimic an owl's face
- Glasswing Butterfly transparent wings with minimal colour one of the most unusual to see in flight
- Common Birdwing one of the largest butterfly species on display
Butterflies land on visitors throughout the visit on hands, shoulders, and clothing especially if you wear bright colours.
Free-Flight Environment
No cages, no enclosures around individual species. Every butterfly in the garden flies freely within their dome. You walk through their space rather than observing them through glass. This is what makes the experience fundamentally different from a standard zoo or wildlife exhibit.
The Butterfly Museum
A separate section within the complex dedicated to entomology displaying real butterfly and insect specimens arranged into artworks, framed collections, and educational exhibits. Artworks are created by local artisans using real butterfly wings and specimens. Included with all entry tickets.
Photography Zones
Several designated photography areas with flower arrangements, perches, and feeding stations where butterflies gather in higher concentrations the best spots inside the garden to capture detailed close-up shots. Staff can assist with positioning for photos.
