What to Expect on a Quad Bike Ride in Dubai
Step 1 Arrival & Safety Briefing Meet at the Lahbab Desert location or at your hotel for pickup. Your guide runs through the controls, safety rules, and hand signals. Helmets and safety equipment are provided. The whole briefing takes about 10 minutes.
Step 2 The Ride Your guide leads from the front — you follow the route at your own pace. The terrain starts on flatter sections near the track for first-timers, gradually moving to the steeper dune faces. More experienced riders can push further and faster on request.
Step 3 The Dunes The Lahbab Desert's red sand dunes are what set Dubai quad biking apart from other locations. The colour, the scale, and the ripple patterns of the dunes are visually spectacular. The best photo opportunities are from the top of the higher dune ridges.
Step 4 Return Return to the base camp. Water and refreshments available. If you booked the safari package, the evening activities continue from here.

The Lahbab Desert also called Big Red is named after its distinctive deep red sand, which contrasts with the lighter sand found in other desert areas around Dubai. The dunes here are larger and steeper than average, making it the preferred location for quad biking, dune buggies, and dune bashing in Dubai.
Hotel pickup available from anywhere in Dubai for all packages. Pickup typically departs between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM for evening safari packages and 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM for morning rides.
Best Time for Quad Biking in Dubai
Morning (7:00 AM – 10:00 AM) October to April. Coolest temperatures, golden morning light on the dunes, and the sand is firmer from the overnight drop in temperature. The best conditions for longer rides.
Late Afternoon to Evening (3:00 PM onwards) The most popular time. The heat drops sharply as the sun descends, the dunes light up golden in the late afternoon, and the evening desert safari packages run from this slot. Best views and most atmospheric conditions.
Avoid: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM from May to September extreme midday heat makes it uncomfortable and potentially dangerous.
