The Route — Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah
Primary Route: E611 (Ras Al Khaimah Road) via E311 The main highway connecting Dubai to RAK. Takes the E311 north out of Dubai then joins the E611 which runs directly to Ras Al Khaimah city and Al Marjan Island. Well-maintained dual carriageway throughout. Passes through Umm Al Quwain territory.
For Jebel Jais: After RAK city, the road climbs the Hajar Mountains toward the peak. The mountain section is approximately 30 minutes from RAK city — winding, scenic, and unlike any other drive in the UAE.
For Al Marjan Island: Exits before RAK city directly onto the island causeway. Well-signposted from the E611.
Traffic note: The Dubai–RAK highway is significantly less congested than the Dubai–Abu Dhabi and Dubai–Sharjah corridors. Outside of major UAE public holidays and summer weekend traffic, the journey runs cleanly. Friday afternoons heading to RAK and Sunday afternoons heading back to Dubai are the busiest times.
